No DNC for me.

Ok- for the last two nights at 10pm I have watched the Democratic National Convention- and to say the least, I've had enough "hoopla" with Obama. I am not a fan of politics, I dont think I have the brain for it. There's too much talk, I get lost in the many translations of all of the policies - non policies and gossip. I will roll with the punches with whomever is elected our next president. I have no specific canadidate to endorse. We all have our opinions, we all have people we like and dislike - what works for one, does not always work for the other.
ANYWAY-- since I decided not to watch the DNC tonight, I decided to take a look at the Owens/kroger ad... LOL-- I really need to find a new hobby--
I was disapointed in the ad tonight - I really thought there would be some great Labor Day savings, but I only found a few things to pass along.

Cottonelle toilet paper .99 cents
coupon from 8/24 paper .50 doubled= FREE

French's Mustard .99 cents
50cent coupon from Franksredhot and French's should again make product: free

Powerade's .50 each - there were some Powerade coupons out about a month ago for 1.00 off of 1 , plus Owens sent out a mailer that had some powerade coupons in it too. I will be able to get 8 powerades for 1.00 after coupons.

Kroger Potato chips .99
24 Pack of Kroger water 2.99
tomato Juice .99
Sealtest gallon of milk 2.99...... Now CVS has Dean's milk for 2.99 a gallon everyday- and there are some .50 coupons that you can use too.

If anyone goes to the Blueberry Festival this weekend, have fun and eat an elephant ear for me!!!

New tool in my cleaning bucket.

It's an Action Scrubber for my tub and shower. I love it for wiping away soap scum. It is a scrubber with an easy extruded foam handle and it comes with texture pads that already come pre-loaded with concentrated scubbing bubbles cleanser. Just add a little water and wipe/scrub away. Landon has already cleaned all 3 bathtubs and wants to do more. The perfect chore for my 7 seven year old. After cleaning rinse off the foam and toss the pad in the trash and put the handle under the sink until next time. There is a starter kit that contains the handle and four cleaning pads and a storage tub. After that all you have to purchase is the cleansing pad refills - those come in a package of 6 and usually run around 3.00. Since this is a fairly new product, I'm sure that CVS or Walgreens will be running a sale. I have some 2.00 coupons if you need one and if you go to www.scrubbingbubbles.com I believe there are even more coupons. You could basically try this product for free or pennies. I like it for the convenience and the fact that I will get help scrubbing the tubs from Landon! He is quite the little helper!

Plus from the Kelloggs insert from 2 weeks ago if you bought Eggos and poptarts you got 2.00 off a gallon of milk PLUS those coupons stacked with the regular Eggo and poptart coupons that I had. I had a great spaghetto coupon for 40cents off of 2 cans- that doubled, so I was able to get 4 cans of Spaghetti O's for only 40 cents TOTAL! That will be a great food drive item! I even had Doug and Nick do their own seperate transaction, because Meijer will only double the first 2 coupons. I can't believe we got spaghetti O's for 10cents a can! AWESOME.
I had a total of 31.43 in coupons - Non coupon savings, i.e. the socks deal, milk deal and backpack deal- that was a total of 34.48!
We are stocked on every kind of breakfast item there is, have enough milk to last a week or so, have some charity food drive items, picked up fresh fruit, snack crackers, school socks and other goodies. Whew-- How can I top this trip???? Wait till I hit CVS and Walgreens... LOL!

My meijer trip...

And their off..........

The big yellow school bus stopped this morning and loaded up our babies. Having a 6th grader, 2nd grader and kindergardner is a new experience. For the last few years, we have always had someone at home to play with. With my house being silent this morning, I am at a loss. I KNOW that there are things that need to be done around here (CLEANING) but part of me wants to just sit in the silence and frankly--- ENJOY!

MMMMM... Yummy.......

We have been eating the best sweet corn lately. Fresh corn from "THE FARM" at only 3.75 a dozen. It is so worth the drive across town to pick it up along with their green beans and fresh onions just pulled from the ground!
Our neighbor Gene has been suppling us with unlimited zucchini, yellow squash and cucumbers. PLUS- the boys and I picked 13 pounds of blueberries, froze them and thanks to my good friend DeDe- we've been eating frozen blueberries for a snack- especially when it is so blasted hot. They are so easy to pop in your mouth and munch away. I love summer veggies and fruits.

FREE KELLLOGGS TUE AND WED ******

School is about to start and I am stocking up on Eggos, cereal, cookies and rice krispie treats. Yesterday's paper came with a Kelloggs insert that had 1.00/2 coupons and a MIR for 10.00 when you spent 10.00. *** MIR starts Tuesday 8-5 SO- since Owen's still has the Mega event going on till Wed night here is a plan of "attack":

10 eggo's =15.00 -2/$1.00 Q = 10.00. MIR $10.00 FREE

10 Keebler cookies =$15.00 -2/$1.00 Q = $10.00 MIR $10.00 FREE

10 Rice Krispies Treats =$15.00 -2/$1.00 = $10.00 MIR $10.00 FREE

10 Boxes of Rice Krispie Cereal= $15.00 -2/1.00 = $10.00 MIR $10.00 FREE

These have to be purchased in groups of 10, on seperate transactions and I need 5 coupons of each group- of course I can mix and match-- Do I really need 10 packages of cookies-- NO, so I will probably mix and match. I broke down in like groups for simplicity. AND, of course it is only 1 rebate per household- but I think I can sweet talk some family, friends and neighbors into letting me use their address. We'll see. Even if I can't and I only get 1 MIR, I'll take free cereal and eggos for the kids anyday!
